It Begins Again...

Or in other words, the first day of NaNoWriMo is almost done! And the Nano site is currently moving like frozen molasses. x_X Here's hoping they add a new server by the end of this week, or using the forums may be hopeless. This will be my third participating year. Today I've managed a good 2,255 words so far, which is very good for me. Apparently the formula will be averaging one cup of chai for every thousand words. Also necessary? One regular size Reese's peanut butter cup and a slightly snuggly cat. ♥

This post serves as my general FYI/warning: I will be somewhat less rational, less sensible, and generally less well-rested for these next 30 days. I will also probably only be online in the evenings, or for short bursts during the day. I don't believe I'll be posting this year's novel as I go (as I've done in previous years), but if you're interested in reading it, you can drop me a note here. ^^ The last two years, I've "won" by completing the 50,000 word count, but I have yet to actually finish a book--therefore, that is the goal for this year.

Wish me luck, if you can spare some. Comment, if you're doing Nano too!

Send me pie?

And Chapter VII: Carnosaurs Don’t Usually Snack on Housecats...Unless They’re Hungry, is now up at [livejournal.com profile] epochs_books. Again, to read the actual body of the novel in progress, you will need to request to join the community, and I will approve you. ^^

And I've just uploaded Chapter VI (The Six-Inch Teeth Are Here Only for Your Protection) up here at the [livejournal.com profile] epochs_books community.

Over 40k, just now. Whew... being this close is love!

And Chapter V of the Nano novel is up here at last, forgive the delay.

This all began yesterday evening, when I was hanging about the Nanowrimo forums, looking over the "I Hate Myself and Want to Die" threads and wondering if I could be any encouragement at all. One of the most popular threads was titled "Supportive Parents? I THINK NOT!!" and after reading through it, I was feeling vaguely depressed about the different ways in which loved ones--intentionally or, more often, not--can lower the wordcount and sometimes end the participation of the Nano writers in their lives. I thought on the matter all evening, then this morning as well, and the subject just wouldn't leave me be. So we'll just call this...

A Little Guide on Dealing with Your Friend/Lover Who's Doing Nanowrimo )

And this is my opportunity to give a huge THANK YOU to the friends who have been so supportive to me, this year. Extra-snuggly fox hugs to [livejournal.com profile] varadia and [livejournal.com profile] laseroption. <3 <3
